Al-Qadriyyah App Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Al-Qadriyyah mobile app (Android/iOS). Al-Qadriyyah is a UK-based Islamic education and da’wah organisation. If you have questions, contact us at admin@alqadriyyah.org.
What we collect
Location. If you allow it, the app reads your device’s GPS location to calculate accurate prayer times for where you are, and to show your approximate city name. This is sent to two external services solely to compute that result: api.aladhan.com (prayer time calculation) and nominatim.openstreetmap.org (converting coordinates to a city name). Neither service is used for advertising or analytics, and the app does not retain a location history. Location access is optional — you can decline it and search for your city manually instead, or the app falls back to London, UK.
Nothing else is transmitted off your device. The app has no user accounts, login, or sign-up. Your prayer tracker history, dhikr counts, streaks, and app preferences (such as your chosen Qur’an reciter) are stored only in local storage on your own device and are never sent to us or anyone else. Uninstalling the app removes this data.
The app contains no advertising SDKs and no analytics/tracking SDKs.
Donations
Tapping Donate in the app opens our website’s secure donation page in an in-app browser. Payment is processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your card details. Any personal information you provide there (name, email, Gift Aid details) is handled under the same practices as donations made directly on alqadriyyah.com.
Third-party content
Qur’an text, translations, and recitation audio are retrieved from public Qur’an APIs (alquran.cloud and the Quran.com API) at the time you use those features, purely to display that content to you.
Children
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children.

We may update this policy from time to time; the date above reflects the latest revision.
