Enter the Advanced Stages of Traditional Islamic Scholarship
Year 4 represents a significant milestone in the student’s academic journey. At this stage, students begin engaging with some of the most important classical texts in Hanafi Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, Hadith, Tafsir, and Aqidah.
Building upon the foundations established in previous years, this course develops a deeper understanding of legal reasoning, textual analysis, and the methodologies employed by the great scholars of Islam.
Students are introduced to advanced discussions within the Islamic sciences while continuing to strengthen their connection with the Qur’an, Sunnah, and scholarly tradition.
What You Will Study
Al-Hidayah (Awwalayn)
One of the most celebrated texts in Hanafi jurisprudence. Students will explore detailed legal discussions and the evidences behind many of the rulings of Islamic law.
Nur al-Anwar fi Sharh al-Manar
A renowned text in Usul al-Fiqh that develops a student’s understanding of legal theory, principles of deduction, and the methodology used by jurists.
Mirqat
A study of selected Hadith texts and their explanations, helping students understand both the meanings and practical applications of Prophetic teachings.
Muwatta Imam Muhammad
One of the earliest and most important compilations of Hadith and Fiqh, transmitted by Imam Muhammad al-Shaybani from Imam Malik. This text provides valuable insight into the foundations of Islamic jurisprudence.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
Continue the study of one of the most widely taught classical commentaries of the Qur’an, focusing on language, context, and interpretation.

Sharh al-Aqaid al-Nasafiyyah
A classical text on Sunni theology covering essential matters of Islamic belief.
Qulyubi (Literature)
An introduction to classical Arabic literature, helping students refine their linguistic and literary skills.
